School Pictures

Completing an online degree program can help further your career!

There’s nothing more exciting then the day your child comes home from school with their school pictures.  However, for many children, the joy quickly turns to sadness as they see pictures that are a source of embarrassment rather than pride.  Messy hair and frowns can turn beautiful school pictures into disasters.  Here are some things that parents can do to help their children take great school pictures.

First, for younger children, you should expect that they might have a difficult time keeping their hair in place for their pictures.  For girls, you may want to make sure that their hair is neatly and securely adorned.  You should avoid using barrettes or clips that can easily become loose.  A great way to make sure that your child’s hair will stay in place until it is time for the school pictures to be taken is to let your child wear her hair in the desired style the day before the official school picture day.

It is also a good idea to make sure that your child receives a full nights sleep.  This will ensure that your child is in a good mood and will reduce the likelihood that your child may have dark circles around their eyes.  Rest is very important for children, and in today’s society, many children are living very hectic lifestyles.  By ensuring that children are getting enough sleep each night, you will be helping them perform better academically as well.

You should also choose the background for your school pictures carefully and have your child dress in colors that will compliment the background.  Choose a background that compliments your child’s natural skin tone, hair color, and eye color as well.

Older girls should be aware of how much makeup they are wearing.  These pictures will last a lifetime, and if you aren’t used to wearing makeup, you may not want to be remembered in your pictures in heavy makeup.  However, there is one exception.  For girls who wear glasses, it is recommended to wear heavy eye makeup, to ensure that the eyes will stand out in the pictures.
