School Lockers

Take online courses in almost any field you'd like!

School lockers are practically a necessity in elementary, junior high, and high schools. Because students are required to attend up to seven classes, with each class consisting of at least one textbook, an on-campus storage area is needed. Fortunately, most schools are equipped with lockers that allow students to hang their jackets, clothing, book bags, and other personal belongings. Without school lockers, students would be forced to carry all their items throughout the day. This can become very burdensome; therefore, most schools include lockers in the hallways.

There are many different types of school locker designs. For the most part, schools are built with age appropriate lockers. For example, an elementary school would not have stacked lockers because younger children would be unable to reach them. On the other hand, stacked school lockers are more ideal for older children. Junior highs and high schools have a higher attendance, and there must be enough lockers to accommodate all students. Even though stacked lockers are shorter, they tend to be wider and longer, which enables students to store all of their belonging. In some instances, these school lockers are large enough for sharing. They are available in multiple colors and include two hanging hooks for jackets, backpacks, etc.

Standard school lockers are very dependable and sturdy. In fact, it is rare for schools to replace lockers. Of course, school locker styles change, and schools may choose to upgrade to stainless steel lockers or stacked lockers. These lockers may come with pre-attached lock pads, or students may supply their own lock. Most school lockers are located in hallways throughout the school. Junior high and high schools also include lockers in the gym. Students attending secondary education schools are required to change clothing for physical education classes. Rather than storing clothing and other belonging in backpacks, school lockers are included in changing rooms. These lockers tend to be smaller, and are most useful for students who participate in after school activities such as football, basketball, etc.

Companies that manufacture school lockers will design lockers to school specifications. Ordering school lockers is easy. Simply choose a design, select a color and quantity, and place the order. School locker manufactures include an assortment of styles for every need. Furthermore, you can choose any color. Along with choosing a design, you can select school lockers with customizable features. For example, will students be sharing lockers? If so, it helps to choose large or wide lockers. Additionally, what age group are the students? Younger children will not necessary require a lot of space. Thus, you can select slender or smaller size lockers, which allows for placement of more lockers within the school hallways.

Other accessories or features that can be included on school lockers includes top or bottom shelves, permanent locks, air vents, multiple hooks, and so forth. Locker ventilation is very important on lockers placed in gyms or athletic locker rooms. Lockers provide great storage space for student school supplies and are available at an unbeatable price.
