Private SchoolsGet an online college degree and get employed in the field you've always wanted! There was once a time in US history when private schools were only for the wealthy socialites and the predominately religious, however the public view of private schools has taken a significant turn in the last fifteen years or so. No longer are private schools viewed as elitist or strict, religiously speaking, but are now viewed as a viable alternative to the many disheartening events in public schools. Private schools are present in nearly every school district within every state in the US. They may or may not be parochial schools, they may or may not be affiliated with any particular religion, they are simply a tuition based school operating outside the parameters of the public schools. While once upon a time, private schools were only considered for staunch religious beliefs, today private schools are considered for myriad reasons from safety to curriculum. The demographics for private schools has also changed considerably, as now the majority of private school students come from middle-class families in all areas of the country. The reasons why parents are more frequently choosing private schools is often based on the belief that public schools have declined. Though studies indicate research that strongly supports both sides of the public versus private schools debate, parents simply wish to try it for themselves. While many parents are in fact looking for a moral and religious based education, many other parents simply wish to provide a more individualized, safe, and practical learning environment. The mere release from government standards and policies is enough to warrant the choice for some parents. Tuition to private schools varies greatly with some actually charging less in tuition than many families become accustomed to paying for pre-school child care. The best way to learn about private schools in your area is to search the phone book and talk personally with staff and attending families in your area. |
