Private SchoolGet an Online Degree from HOME in your spare time! There are different reasons why parents choose to send their wards to a private school. It could be a matter of family tradition or concern about the safety of public schools in your area. Whatever be the reason, it is an important decision and choosing the right school is very important. It is important to start the whole process well in advance because it could take quite a long time to get everything you are looking for. It is also essential to be well informed about the entire process. Remember that most private schools make their admissions decisions pretty early in the year. After you compile a list of the schools that look like possibilities, define some criteria for zeroing in on the right private school for your child. Your considerations should include the size of the school, whether it is a day school or boarding school, whether it is a co-educational school or not. The deciding part is perhaps the toughest and is bound to take a while. For instance, you might feel that a private school that takes in fewer students might be able to provide your child with more personalized attention. But once you cross that hurdle it is easier to focus. The admission process to a private school consists of interview as well as an admission test. The personal interview is usually held first. Scores from tests such as the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE), Cooperative Entrance Exam (for Catholic Schools (COOP)), Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (NYC) (SHSAT) are required in order to complete the admission process to a private school. Some schools might also require prospective students to submit an essay along with their applications. Previous school records, references or recommendations from teachers, medical records and a fee might also have to accompany the application for admission to a private school. |
