Over four million students are enrolled in online universities and schools and that number is expected to continue growing as much as 30% a year.  What are the benefits of enrolling in an online school?

One benefit of online schools is the course material.  It is available at all times, even in the middle of the night.  This makes online school learning convenient for busy persons.  Lectures, comments made by other students as well as instructors of online schools, explanations and discussions in online schools can be studied and restudied at any time.  Think of how this can benefit the online school students who would normally miss many points in a real time school because of distractions from other students or even from drifting off.

Another benefit from online schools is that online school instructors may live in any part of the world.  Think of how much personal knowledge can be added to the curriculum of online schools.  And think of how online schools do away with the intimidation students feel when they actively participate in a traditional school. Online students are anonymous; hence they don’t feel pressured from feelings of inferiority.

One very effective method of increasing student achievement while at the same time lowering cost of education has been online schooling.  Online schooling can provide students with independent learning, interaction with other students of different cultures and backgrounds, and acquiring skills at working collaboratively.

Online schooling will never replace traditional schooling, however it is very plain to see that online schooling is flexible, accessible, and here to stay.
