Military SchoolsOnline college degrees are a great way to advance your career!Military schools have meant different things to different people. History shows in the 1960s and 1970s military schools almost became extinct, but in recent years have seen resurgence in popularity. One reason for this may be because of the increasing needs of troubled teenagers, who seem to have their needs fulfilled in military schools. Parents eagerly await an opening in military schools and there is a long waiting list in most of them. In some cases, career military parents feel that military schools will provide their child with more stability. One may think of military schools as a training for serving in the military, or becoming war-ready. Many like to think of military schools as merely another form of boarding school, training its pupils to have a successful future. A large percentage of graduates from military schools go on to attend college. An academic environment for many juvenile delinquents is the goal of most military schools. Signing up for classes on the first day of school is not the norm for military schools. Only students who show signs of fitting in the environment of military school are accepted after careful interviewing. History shows the nations leaders saw the benefits of military schools all the way back in the 1700s, and formed a committee to form a plan to organize a national military school. They felt the public school system was lacking, and the deficiency could be filled with military schools. History shows this led to the forming of the first military school in 1802, West Point. Of course, the goal of many military schools today is to groom their cadets for the most prestigious colleges and universities, or a decorated career in the military. Education however, is the number one priority of military schools, along with developing the cadet’s mind, body and spirit. |
