Learning a new language is a goal that many people desire to acquire.  For many, this task may be simple while for others it may not be so easy.  Even if you are unable to fluently speak Spanish, some who are learning Spanish choose to learn certain phrases to get their thoughts across. This way it will help them to communicate when talking with a Spanish speaking person.  Though while learning Spanish, the words may not roll off your tongue easily, the locals in your area will definitely appreciate your attempts to speak their language.

Important words that many people first learn are to say “hello” and “goodbye”.  Hello in Spanish is “hola”, and goodbye is “adios.”  This makes a great greeting and departure.  Even if you are not the one doing all of the talking, salutations can be a term of respect.  If you choose to introduce yourself by name, you can start by saying “Mi nombre es.” Then say your name.  Other terms of respect is by using the words “por favor” and “gracias”.  Por favor in English means please, while gracias means thank you.  English speaking people use these words quite frequently to show that they appreciate something that they have done for you.  When you are a beginner and is learning Spanish, learning noun words is best.  For example, is you use the word “Donde es” it is asking where is something.  If you know nouns you can ask “Donde es la puerta?”  This in Spanish means where is the door?   You can place any noun that you are looking for in the place of “puerta”.  And if all else fails, if you choose not to speak Spanish in public while you are still learning it, you can simple ask “Habla ingles?”.  Do you speak English.  If they do not, they may be able to find someone who does speak English so a translation can be effectively rendered.

One program online in particular that can help you while learning Spanish is lingolex.  Lingolex helps you to learn Spanish.  They give you free permission to use any of their material for what ever purposes you like and goes into detail about vocabulary and grammar.  Lingolex gives vocabulary words in Spanish and also English and show you how to describe your physical appearance to people, along with a host of other activities for you to do. Learning Spanish does have to be a chore.  With the right knowledge and materials, anyone can do it.
