High School SportsGet an Online Degree from HOME in your spare time!High school sports can be as important to a student as reading, writing and arithmetic. Students and parents alike feel that high school sports teach fair-play, healthy competition, team spirit, and helps build character. High school sports also can help kids stay drug free and avoid the low self esteem that causes many kids to join gangs. Many sports stars today began life in the ghettos, and high school sports were the beginning of their new career and life because of athletic scholarships. And contrary to band or chorus, as well as some other extra curricular activities, high school sports provide healthy exercise and teach healthful habits. High school sports encourages participants to excel in the academic half of school too, because without a certain grade level children are barred from high school sports. High school sports teach students the importance of not cheating, avoiding illegal tactics, and violence. Aside from personal benefits, high school sports provide plenty of good entertainment. The benefits of high school sports are so important that some home schooling children have even been allowed to participate on teams. Representing one’s school in high school sports gives teens a sense of belonging and importance. Some teens even cultivate friendships from high school sports that last a lifetime. Some schools have begun an effort to cooperate with other schools in high school sports. This is because some schools aren’t privileged with certain high school sports, and combining with one that does allows for more children to participate in high schools sports. High school sports have even been found to reduce stress and depression, and even encourages avoiding cigarette smoking. And it has even been suggested that high school sports helps prevent osteoporosis in later life. Kids who participate in high school sports miss fewer school days. Besides, high school sports are fun. |
