High School Football

Getting a online college degree is much cheaper than attending a 4 year school!

Sports such as football are a major part of American culture. Each year, millions of football fans pack stadiums across the country. This includes stadiums for professional football teams, college teams, and high school football teams. Beginning a professional football career takes years. For the most part, top players had their start playing for a high school football team. Even though some people trivialize high school sporting events, there are many talented football players playing for high school teams. In fact, football players typically groom their talent while playing for a high school team. In turn, players may be invited to play for a well-known college team, which could lead to an opportunity to play professional football.

Winning high school football teams can attract a large crowd or following. This is evident by sold-out stadiums and loud roaring from the audience. A major event with high school football games is the homecoming game. On average, this game takes place during the month of October or November. Homecoming is the last home game for the season. Even though all football games are exciting, homecoming games typically involve additional celebrations. For example, the high school marching band may perform a special show for the occasion. This may consist of playing popular songs and incorporating a choreographed dance routine. Furthermore, high school football homecoming games involve the crowning of a homecoming King and Queen. The night comes to an appropriate end with a homecoming dance, generally held within the school.

High school football usually includes two teams. Junior Varsity or JV teams consist of freshman and sophomore high school players, whereas Varsity teams consist of junior and senior high school players. For the most part, JV football games are held on Thursday nights, and Varsity high school football games are traditionally held on Friday nights.
