Christian Education

Take christian education courses online in your spare time!

To some Christian education means taking studies in theology, pastoral care, and homiletics in order to make their religion’s clergy class as a career. To others Christian education is a special school where children receive a basic kindergarten through twelfth grade education.  Some parents feel that by providing their children with a Christian education they will reap advantages, like teachers who care personally about each child, hopefully better associates, Bible classes, and healthy discipline.

Christian education is important to those who understand the true meaning of the word Christian, that is, a follower of Christ. History shows that Jesus Christ founded Christian education and provided guidelines for his disciples to follow.  He told them one of the reasons he had been born was to make his father known to man through Christian education.   Originally, he sent those involved in Christian education out in pairs of two.  They traveled to people’s homes and villages, offering one on one personalized Christian education.

History shows these people were not to charge money for Christian education.  They volunteered their time and energy to conveniently bring Christian education to people.  These teachers of Christian education also did secular work to support the needs of themselves and their families.  Some jobs they worked at to provide life’s necessities while engaged in Christian education work were tent making, fishing, and carpentry.

History shows that even women offered themselves willingly in this Christian education work. These teachers of Christian education for the most part were common, every day people, with no special schooling or training other than what they gleaned from their leader.  Christian education teachers by nature were humble, and usually not wealthy.

History shows that originally the purpose of Christian education was not to found secular schooling, hospitals, and other community improvements.  Perhaps more importantly Christian education helped reciprocates to become better people individually, hence better citizens.  In this way Christian education aided in stronger communities.
